The Identity Inventory

Before you can plan a transition, you have to know what you are actually leaving behind. This maps where your sense of self is currently anchored, and which of those anchors will be hardest to release.

There is no good score here. A high number is a map of where the work is. The people who struggle most in transition are usually the ones who never looked.

What this means for your transition

Where your identity is anchored

Each category is scored 1 to 5. The highest scores mark where the transition will be hardest, and where the most inner work is needed before you leave.

The Identity Inventory is a structured way to see which parts of your identity are load-bearing on your job, so that a transition does not remove them without warning. It is not a clinical or psychological diagnostic, and it is not therapy.
